About us

A Welsh beekeeping business with education at its heart

Tŷ Mêl Apiary keeps bees at Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran and across Torfaen, makes beeswax products, and brings bees to schools and community groups across Gwent.

Founder & Director

Markus Cox

Markus began his agricultural career in 2013, working on large, multi-species farming operations covering 800 acres and thousands of livestock. It was during that time that he set up his first working apiaries.

Today he runs Tŷ Mêl, combining that grounding in land and livestock management with modern monitoring and mapping tools to keep healthy, resilient bees for South Wales, and to share them with the next generation.
