Privacy and cookies
What we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are
This website is run by Tŷ Mêl Apiary, the trading name of CalonTerra Ltd, based in Pontypool, Torfaen. For anything about your personal information, email markus@tymel.co.uk or call 07446 189746.
What we collect and why
- Enquiry forms (contact, bee talks, business partnerships, school visit enquiries): the details you type in, so we can reply and arrange what you have asked about. These forms are processed by our website host, Netlify.
- School visit bookings made through the calendar: the school, contact name, email, optional phone number, visit details and venue address if we are coming to you. These are stored in our booking diary, hosted by Netlify, so we can confirm and run the visit. Greenmeadow Community Farm can see bookings in the shared diary where it helps to arrange visits at the farm.
- “Tell me when it is ready” lists: your name, email and any note, used to send you one email when that product launches.
- Email updates: your email address, optional first name and interests, used only to send the updates you asked for. We only add you if you tick the consent box, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Payments: sponsorship and queen bee payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and we never see or store them. Stripe tells us what was bought and gives us the name, email and any delivery address you provide at checkout.
We use this information because you have asked us to do something (reply, book, deliver, or send updates), and to keep the records a business needs. We do not sell or share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and bookings for as long as we need them to deal with your request and keep sensible business records, and then delete them. Ask us at any time and we will tell you what we hold.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. You can withdraw consent to email updates at any time. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and similar storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your basket is remembered in your browser's local storage so it is still there when you move between pages. It is essential for the basket to work.
- Your cookie choices are remembered in the same way.
- Facebook posts on our About page only load if you choose to show them. Facebook may then set its own cookies. You can change this using the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom of every page.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to download them.
- Payments: when you go to Stripe's checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.
